Where we travel
Spanning roughly 300 km², the Pemberton Icefield is a vast and ever-changing landscape of glaciers, ice caves, and alpine wilderness. Shaped by thousands of years of snowfall, meltwater, and movement, it is a place defined by transformation. Ice caves shift, new formations emerge, and no two seasons are ever quite the same - making every visit a truly unique experience.
Beyond Whistler holds tenure over a 120 km² portion of the icefield, allowing guests to explore a remote landscape that would otherwise be unreachable. There are no trails, no roads, and no easy paths leading to its peaks or ice caves. Our proprietary helicopter access ensures every experience is safe, carefully planned to be as low-impact as possible.
It’s also what keeps this vast landscape feeling wild, quiet, and almost entirely untouched.
Our Guides
Every experience in the mountains is led by a dedicated Beyond Whistler guide, certified through the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG) Training and Assessment Program. With extensive training in mountain travel and glacier safety, our guides provide the expertise needed to explore these remote environments with confidence and respect for the land.
Beyond their technical qualifications, they are storytellers, educators, and trusted companions, sharing the history, geology, and natural wonders of the Pemberton Icefield along the way. Their deep knowledge and genuine passion for the mountains help transform a remarkable adventure into a meaningful and unforgettable experience.

John Stibbard
John Stibbard is a seasoned tourism professional with over 30 years of experience across British Columbia and Alberta. As the owner of Beyond Whistler, he brings a deep understanding of the industry, a passion for the outdoors, and a visionary approach to creating unforgettable experiences in one of Canada’s most iconic mountain destinations.
Throughout his career, John has built a reputation for operational excellence, strategic leadership, and a commitment to sustainable tourism. His love for the mountains and the natural beauty of Western Canada has been the driving force behind his work, inspiring him to connect people with the landscapes and communities that make this region so special.
With Beyond Whistler, John is redefining adventure and hospitality, offering immersive, authentic experiences that reflect his lifelong dedication to the tourism industry and the great outdoors.

Marc Cousineau
Marc Cousineau is the General Manager & Partner for Beyond Whistler. He leads the delivery of exclusive, world-class, helicopter-accessed adventures on the Pemberton Icefield, committed to unparalleled operational excellence and responsible tourism to deliver the best Guest Experience Possible. Marc grew up ski racing & ski before completing his undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics and his post-graduate degree in Sports Marketing.
He has lived in Pemberton since 2013 with his 3 kids and outside of work he loves to ski, mountain bike and scramble in the mountains. Marc’s two decades of leadership are rooted in the Sea to Sky Corridor, where he has founded a successful event rental business and continues to serve as ski guide with Extremely Canadian. This local expertise is combined with a strong corporate background in marketing, brand management, and high-end guest experience with multi-national corporations, ensuring a world-class journey for every Beyond Whistler guest.
